Electro-Shock Treatment

Electro-Shock

Recently my mother informed me that one of our older relatives is severely depressed, and as a result her doctors have advised Electo-Shock treatment. Over the years I’ve known a number of individuals that have received this treatment, and I’ve notice a expanding group of web sites that detail the horror of this so called treatment. Of course the MD’s say that “many” people get better as a result of the treatment. However, if someone was putting me through this “treatment”, I’d do my best to say, pretend or believe I was “really” doing much better. The fun part is that even if the patient shows indications of progress, they must continue the treatments for some time in order to be weaned off the delightful process.

Interestingly, I’m not surprised that this old aunt is depressed. Considering her life history, I’d be depressed as well. Of course as an Astrologer I would suggest a holistic healing approach, one that might remove her from the presence of her old, overbearing, insufferable, religiously conservative husband. I’m sure she believes in hell, and would suggest that she has had her share of hell. Of course her immediate family can’t possibly see the problem, they are true believers in the paternal system in which they were raised in, and believe in. Further, although the signs of abuse seem evident to me, they would immediately deny those indicators.

Astrologers have noted over the ages that illness often “arrives” as times of tension, frustration, and conflict. Further that tension can often be predicted in tense aspects and midpoints on one’s natal, progressed and transit charts. That imbalance in our chart being in time directly reflected in our physical form. When we look at the chart and get to know the client, some big picture life themes and issues can be clearly delineated. But the obvious is often the last agenda item for the individual to see. Astrology can not “cure” the illness. But when we have a clear understanding of our issues and their relation to our life time line, we can plan, redirect, and organize for a better future.
