The Associated Press announced over the weekend (August 20th,06)the potential for three new planets in the solar system to be included in textbooks. Lots of folks seem really surprized.
But for Astrologers this is no new surprise....for years a number of Astrologers have suggested this reality, plotting potential positions for the planets....
Of course the "new" is the fun part, in that these planets have existed from the time of the formation of our solar system.
Its going to be three "new" as a subcatagory to Pluto, called Pluton. The three casting influence upon or modifying Pluto. The group are already being referred to as Pluton.
This will make a set of twelve.....just consider the twelves we already have: twelve signs, houses, months of the year, tribes of Isreal, Apostles....lots of archetype ideas.
Moving into Aquarian times, this recognized change may have a profound impact on the development of human consciousness and movement of "new age" ideas into the greater population.
Added note:
Ok, so the decision was made and now from a "science" perspective Pluto is not a "planet". Well, so what!
From an Astrological perspective, the symbolism and power of Pluto can not be denied. It will continue to maintain it's use and employment in the world of Astrology. Of course Astrology also refers to the Moon and Sun as planets and the delineation of the planets and their aspects is from an earth centered view point. Yet amazingly those Astrologiers that view and study astrology from a heliocentric angle usually arrive at similar conclusions in their analytical work.
Astrology is not about an alternative science or ancient science. It's about symbols, personal development, and the power to create change in our personal life and life directing themes.
